		<description>I think it is really naive to think that artists are not working "real" jobs in addition to making their work. As a member of a viberant art community in the U.S., I know several artists, including myself, that work more than one job in addition to making their art work. We pay taxes, have families, and are active, productive members of the community. Most of the governement funding in the U.S. is merit based and given to encourage the creation of art. The funds go to pay for materials, studio rent, research, projects etc. not to cover living expenses. People, not just artists fight for what the believe in and feel passionate about &#38; artists believe in the arts.</description>
